Mr. Jones has served on various projects performing tasks
as simple as working as a rodman on a field crew to running multi-million
dollar construction projects. This has transpired over a period of
approximately forty (40) years while working with three (3) major
consulting firms. In the last fifteen (15) years Mr. Jones has been
most active working as a facilitator, coordinator and client manager.
When he worked as a consultant in Summit County, Ohio he obtained and
managed two (2) major federal grant projects that were rated #2 and #4 in
the State of Ohio and involved several subconsultants, multiple
contractors, five (5) field crews and several inspectors. The
project was valued at approximately eighty (80) million dollars and
included construction of two (2) 4 mgd advanced wastewater treatment
plants. This project had the normal challenges and took over three
(3) years to complete construction. The final project cost was only
over the original contractor bid by 3%. This project was
accomplished while overcoming a continuously changing set of federal and
state environmental regulatory requirements in the early 1970s. At
the ground breaking ceremony the USEPA representative commended the
consulting firm involved for their cooperation and attitude that prevails
for all JWCI clients.
In subsequent years, Mr. Jones had the opportunity to coordinate an
effort to acquire the largest construction grant offered to the State of
Ohio in that year and one of the last in the country under PL-92-500
program. The most significant obstacle was that the county receiving
the grant has only six (6) months to meet the grant requirements.
Mr. Jones, with the help of many other consultants, was able to work as
the lead consultant and coordinated the design efforts. The result
of these efforts was the award of a forty-two (42) million dollar
construction grant to the county being served. |
