One of three full-time commissioner responsible for an annual $38 million general fund budget, managing a total portfolio of over $200 million annually including water, sewer and other specialized funds.  Have specific knowledge as to the everyday operation of county government.  Served as President of the Board in 1998.  Composed and execute policy for the organization.  A proven leader as a successful marketing strategist for numerous economic development projects as well as assist in the design, implementation and execution of several multi-million dollar construction projects.  Coordinator and facilitator for a number of public-private partnerships, as well as the management and supervision of over 600 full time employees.

City Commissioner (Elected) (1994-1997)

 

One of seven part-time commissioners responsible for an annual budget of over $25 million dollars.  Compose and execute local legislation, as well as a general knowledge of all operations of municipal government.  Special emphasis was placed on economic development, planning and zoning regulations.  Served as deputy mayor, as well as vice president of the board.  Successfully participated in and facilitated several collective bargaining agreements as well as directly supervised three appointed employees and was responsible for over 300 employees.

Operations Coordinator (1990-1997)

 

In a family owned operation of over 100 employees,  Shawn was one of four key management people who were not family.  He was hired as a dispatcher and aggressively advanced through  the company learning a multitude of responsibilities.  When Shawn left in 1997, not only was he responsible for all hiring, he was also responsible for delivery coordination with the dispatchers, directly supervised over 30 employees and executed all aspects of credit and collections for sales in excess of $10 million annually.  He assisted in the coordination, scheduling and management of numerous construction projects as well as compliance officer for many state and federal regulations.
