Project

Franklin Street Widening

Centerville, Ohio

The project involved reconstruction an widening of one half mile of roadway through the main thoroughfare in Centerville, Ohio.  The project was warranted due to extreme traffic congestion created by the high school and a need to improve the sight distance for some of the local business drive entrances and to replace the failing existing asphalt.  The design involved roadway, sidewalk and storm sewer design along with stripping plans and maintenance of traffic.  The preliminary design provided various profile options and several storm sewer layouts.  The project had to be coordinated with all of the existing business traffic patterns and had to be constructed while school was out in the summer.  The construction cost was $450,000.00 and the project was completed on schedule and budget.  The plans were developed using ODOT design drawing standards
